Core Competencies >>
Psychotherapy research, family therapy and family medicine. Focus on psychosocial prevention for highly stressed families, parenting school, parent / baby consulting and violence research. Scientific director of the Lindau Psychotherapy Weeks together with Prof. Dr. Verena Kast.

Head of the Institute for Psychosomatic Cooperative Research and Family Therapy. The institute focuses on relationship research and relationship-oriented interventions within psychosocial fields. In psychosomatics and psychotherapy, patients’ dysfunctional interpersonal relationship patterns are accorded high significance in both diagnostics and therapy. Disturbed interpersonal relationships are causally linked with the development and perpetuation of psychogenetic diseases. Studies prove that people in viable relationships report subjectively higher well-being and that objectively they fall ill less often than people in dysfunctional relationships.
